What to Expect Going Forward

Last week, I came out with a quick update on YouTube explaining some of the changes I was making. In my own rambling way, I basically said that my passion lies with dissecting stories to help writers improve their own craft and that I needed to be more tactical in how I release my content. I also extended the offer to my video viewers to send me their feedback on what they would like to see in each category of my content (video, podcast, and newsletter), and of course, I’m also extending that invitation to you as well.

What I’ve decided on for now is the following schedule:

• Newsletters on Tuesday, which will include informative articles, recommendations, and video links

• YouTube videos on Wednesday

• Podcast episodes on Friday starting April 1. The podcasts will mostly be audio versions of my YouTube videos and, since it’s hosted through Substack, will come to your inbox just like the newsletters.

Coming this Week

Tune into YouTube on Wednesday at 11 CT for a video breakdown of three OG young adult thrillers from the 90s. YA really took off as a genre during this decade thanks to authors like RL Stine and Richie Tankersley Cusick. This video breaks down the repeated story elements that basically made the books catnip to teenage girls.

The Marvel shows Daredevil, Jessica Jones, The Defenders, and Luke Cage will be on Disney Plus starting tomorrow. Iron Fist as well but seriously…

These shows are fantastic, Daredevil in particular, and I’m so glad that Disney Plus is bringing them into the MCU. Never fear, parents. With these shows come a new spread of parental controls in the app, as these shows are for the 16+ crowd.
